BONUS ROUND 1: Group Thread

Hello!

As we know, Bonus round 1 has sped by us quickly! This post is a little place to post (and maybe show off a little, hoho) what you've submitted, what prompts caught your eye, or anything bonus round one related at all!

Bonus round 2 has also been introduced, but I'll post another thread for it after the round is over. Hopefully I'll be able to make this a regular thing!

---

Just as a note for the second bonus round, I would like to again press that each member of the group contribute at least one or two entries this time around! Have fun with it! It certainly is an interesting topic.

---

Thanks for sticking through with me and my craziness!

Gosh I'm sensing some Madoka here!!! Which is... the best magical girl ever (Next to CCS) This is super cool though! And incredibly and suitably creepy D8 I'm a huge sucker for JohnKat too~ And you drew them awesomely! I especially love your Karkat. What a total cutie ♥ I also want to mention your nice use of texture and gradient on here. Very cool! :O

Ughhh this is totally giving me a horror boner. I want to draw horror now so bad hahaha Good thing next round is monsters xD

I sadly didn't get a chance to finish coloring mine because it takes me 500 years to color anything and I stared using SAI for the first time (BUT OH MAN I LOVE IT??? AH) which also made it difficult. Sooooooo I just posted lineart.

Prompt: Dirk ♦ Jane, zombie apocalypse/steampunk. I'd never drawn Dirk, Jane, zombies, apocalypses, or steampunk before, so it was kind of an adventure.

Lineart:

Color progress:

THIS MAY HAVE BEEN...A LITTLE AMBITIOUS FOR SOMEONE OF MY SKILL LEVEL...... :D;;;

Oh man. Yeah! Colouring can be a total bitch... A coloured pic takes me about 6-7 hours on average.... and that is just character colouring and simple background... not even a proper full detail bg. I shudder to think how long that'd take me sob... my patience also only stretches so far!

But ANYWAY. Oh man! Ambition is the best thing within a person! I love that you took on so many challenges at once! You seriously got heart in there :) I love this though! What total babes~ Lil' Cal gotta be my favorite. I mean with that snazzy looking hat and goggles - How can I resist? Gosh, even if the round is over I think you should continue working on it! Seriously, so many of my favorite elements in this xDDD

Wow, I missed this comment somehow. Thank you! ♥

I think I have actually attempted steampunk in the past, but I used like actual references and a color palette for this one. I'm also trying to branch out with the coloring style, and I've been pretty happy with the results thus far. :33 (EXCEPT ON DIRK'S HAIR, ARRRGH.) I do intend to keep working on it, I just don't have much time for coloring lately. It takes me a REALLY long time to color, ahaha.

But yeah! Thanks a bunch. :D

Haha, thanks! Yeah, I realized the other day that the reason I have 8 million WIPs is because I sketch like a boss but never finish anything. XD

The shading is me doing an experiment, basically. XD I keep reading that highlights and lowlights shouldn't just be straight variations on the original color, so I used red lowlights and blue highlights, and I'm very pleased with the results thus far! Now...to actually finish it... heh.
